Who we are

Peace Nursery is a plant nursery based in Hazaribagh, Jharkhand, India. When this policy says “we”, “us” or “our”, it means Peace Nursery. When it says “you”, it means a visitor or customer of our website.

Questions about this policy or your data: open the chat from any signed-in page, or message us from an order in your account.

What we collect

Depending on how you use the site, we may hold:

  • Account details — name, email address and profile photo from Google Sign-In, plus any phone number you add later.
  • Delivery details — shipping addresses, phone numbers and map pins you save for orders.
  • Order and payment records — what you bought, amounts, status history, gift-card and Peace Points activity. Card and UPI details are handled by Razorpay; we do not store full payment-instrument numbers.
  • Location for delivery checks — a pincode (and related zone) stored in a browser cookie so we can show whether we deliver to you and on what terms.
  • Care and shopping data — wishlist items, plants you add to My Plants, watering reminders, plant-match answers, and diagnosis requests you send us.
  • Reviews and uploads — ratings, written reviews and photos you attach to reviews, returns or support messages.
  • Support chat — messages and attachments you send through our in-app chat.
  • Notifications — email and in-app preference settings, and (only if you opt in) a browser push subscription for Firebase Cloud Messaging.
  • Technical logs — basic request and error data needed to run and secure the site.

How we use it

We use this information to:

  • create and secure your account;
  • take payment, fulfil orders and handle refunds or replacements;
  • show delivery availability for your area;
  • send order updates and care reminders you have asked for;
  • answer support messages and plant-diagnosis requests;
  • improve the catalogue, stock planning and site reliability;
  • detect fraud, abuse and technical problems.

We do not sell your personal information. Marketing email is off by default and only sent if you turn it on in notification settings.

Who else sees it

We share data only with services that help us operate the shop, and only as needed for that job:

  • Google — sign-in authentication.
  • Razorpay — payment processing and refunds.
  • Resend — transactional email (order and account messages).
  • Cloudflare R2 — storage for product images and files you upload.
  • Firebase (Google) — optional web push notifications and support-chat infrastructure.
  • Google Maps / Places — address autocomplete and map picking when you enter a delivery location.
  • Hosting and database providers — to run the website and store records securely.

We may also disclose information if Indian law requires it, or to protect our customers, staff or property in a genuine dispute or safety matter.

Cookies and similar storage

We use essential cookies and local storage to:

  • keep you signed in;
  • remember your delivery pincode / zone between visits;
  • rate-limit abusive traffic;
  • store a push subscription if you enable notifications.

These are needed for the shop to work as described. Clearing cookies signs you out and forgets your saved delivery check until you set it again.

How long we keep it

Account, order and payment records are kept for as long as we need them to fulfil orders, handle returns, meet tax and accounting duties, and resolve disputes. Support messages and uploads are kept while they are useful for that conversation or claim. You can ask us to delete or correct personal data that we are not required to retain.

Your choices and rights

You can:

  • update your name and phone in your profile;
  • edit or remove saved addresses under Addresses;
  • change email, push and marketing preferences under Notifications;
  • turn off browser push permission in your device or browser settings;
  • ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold, or to correct or delete it, via in-app chat.

Where the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 applies, you may also have rights to withdraw consent and to seek redress through the mechanisms that Act provides. We will respond to verified requests as promptly as we reasonably can.

Children

The site is aimed at adults buying plants and home goods. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 18. If you believe a child has given us data, tell us through chat and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy in a material way, we will update the “Last updated” date on this page. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the revised policy.

Governing law

This policy is governed by the laws of India. Courts in Jharkhand have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising from it, subject to any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have.
